New Players to SPMHA

All players new to Stony Plain Minor Hockey Association or new to hockey must contact the registration coordinator before starting the registration process. 

New To Hockey

If you are new to hockey you will be required to complete the following:

  1. Contact the Registration Coordinator before starting the registration process. 
  2. Check the Boundary Map to ensure that you reside within our boundaries
  3. A copy of player's birth certificate
  4. Two documents to show Proof of Residency which can include  Parent Driver's License or Utility Bill.
  5. Create a Hockey Canada Account and obtain your player’s Hockey Canada ID
  6. Complete the Mandatory Respect in Sport – Parent Program

If you already have a child participating in minor hockey for who you’ve completed the Respect in Sport Parent course, you simply have to log in to your Respect in Sport – Parent Program and add the new player. 

Enter your login credentials (username and password) and click Login.  Click on Profile, Click on Child Management, and in Child  Management,  you select ADD CHILD

Be sure to select Stony Plain Minor Hockey as your minor hockey association.  This step will create a new Hockey Canada ID for your new player.

New To Our Association

If you are new to Stony Plain Minor Hockey Association the following  information will be required:
 

  1. Contact the Registration Coordinator before starting the registration process. 
  2. Check the Boundary Map to ensure that you reside within our boundaries
  3. A copy of player's birth certificate
  4. An online fillable Parent Declaration Form is to be filled out in its entirety. Please use as  registration@spmha.net as the email address so the completed form is sent to the registration coordinator as confirmation. 
  5. Two documents to show Proof of Residency which can include the following:

        - Parent Driver's License with New Address
        - Utility Bill with New Address
        - School Registration with New Address

Please understand Stony Plain Minor Hockey does not support the manipulation of residency for the purpose of playing or hockey and will support all Hockey Alberta investigations, initiatives, and penalties in this regard.

Please Note: If your resident association does not have room for your athlete, and you are looking to join SPMHA, you will be required to provide a Player Movement Form.  It must be filled out completely and have your Resident Minor Hockey President's signature.
